静岡県の掛川市や牧之原市ではお茶の品質向上を目的に秋冬期に茶園周辺のススキなどの草を刈り、有機肥料として茶畑に敷く農法（茶草場農法）が伝統的におこなわれてきました。

また、その採草地では生物の多様性が保たれており、農業との両立がなされていることが評価され、2013年5月に世界農業遺産に登録されました。

Traditional tea-grass integrated system has been held traditionally at Kakegawa City and Makinohara City ,Shizuoka Prefecture in order to improve tea quality. The Traditional tea-grass integrated system is an agricultural method to mow grass such as Japanese pampas grass around tea plantations in autumn and winter, after that, spread the mowed grass as organic fertilizer over the plantation.

Moreover, diversity of organism has been preserved, and both the agriculture and the organism have been co-existed on the meadow. By evaluating those points, the meadow was registered to the GIAHS (Globally Important Agricultural Heritage Systems) on May 2013.
